How does osteopathic treatment work?
Treatment is hands-on and specific to what we find in your assessment, not a fixed routine applied to everyone. Depending on what’s going on, that might include soft tissue massage to ease tight or overworked muscles, joint mobilisation to restore movement where things feel stiff, and stretching to lengthen shortened tissue.
Because pain in one area is often linked to how the rest of your body moves, we look beyond just the sore spot: a stiff hip can change how your lower back moves, tight shoulders can contribute to headaches. Treating the wider pattern, not just the symptom, is central to how osteopathy works.
You’ll also leave with practical advice: stretches, activity modifications, or simple changes to your daily routine, so progress continues between visits, not just during them.
